Museum of Women in the Arts

I helped Matt M. with a wedding reception a few weeks ago at the Museum of Women in the Arts. It was my first time being there, and it was pretty impressive:

It was one of the more interesting receptions that I have done...they had a belly dancer (the bride is Egyptian)!

Here are a few kids:

Gunga galunga

We went on the annual family beach trip recently, it was Allison's (my niece) first beach experience. Took her a little while to get used to (wanted nothing to do with the ocean on the first day), but by the second or third day she loved it.

Funny, out of all the pics I took that week I think there might be 2 that are not of her.

Here she is doing her best Carl Spackler (Bill Murray's character from Caddyshack) impression:

Every time I look at this pic I can see her saying:
"So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."
Showing some serious concentration here:

D'OH!

In honor of the Simpson's movie (one of the greatest tv shows of all time...along with Seinfeld and Cheers), I have simpsonized Karin and I:

I was bored at work and looking at some photography sites (this is what I do when I'm bored during this really really bad time of year when no sports are on...sorry baseball). I came across The Blog is Found, which has some really cool pics...and the link to the simpsonizer. Anyway, you should check out the site, its pretty funny.

GO NAVY!

It's been a while since I have posted any wedding pictures, so here are a few shots from Sarah Tierney and George Wisnieski's wedding we did a few months ago at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. It had been a while since I was last at the Naval Academy, so it was great to be back and walk around the campus a bit. I shot the guys getting ready while Matt M. shot the girls.

One last call on the way to the Chapel:

The inside of the Chapel was really impressive, I got this shot of them on their way out...

Matt M. got an even better one, after they passed me they stopped (without being prompted) and kissed...check it out: http://www.mattmendelsohn.net/2007/07/gone-fishin.html
When they walk out the door of the Chapel, they have to stop on each step and kiss prior to being let through...was pretty cool:

Here is a shot of Sarah during the best man speech:

I am finally getting caught up, so hopefully there will be more pics up soon.

Paris

It's been a while since I posted some new pictures, been pretty busy since getting back from Africa/Paris. Here are a few pics from Paris:

I'll be putting some new pics up soon, I did a 50th Birthday party in Georgetown the other weekend and also helped Matt out with a wedding at the Naval Academy recently. Hopefully those will be up soon. Also, I am now officially a part of the information superhighway, that's right the world wide web (thank goodness Al Gore invented it for us)...www.mattlisack.com (with the help of my buddy, Jamie who does web development), check it out if you are bored.

Kids...kids and more kids...

Looking through the shots from the last wedding that I did, I noticed I got quite a few kids...this one might be one of my favorites from all the weddings:

anyone remember cabbage patch kids:

Pretty funny, caught this kid looking my way during the wedding:

Guess I should include one of the bride and groom, they were enjoying themselves while Matt was getting ready to take a shot, and the sun was right behind them so I took this:

When The Cat Is Away...

I had a few mice living with me recently...Karin and I spent the other night watching this guy run around. It was actually pretty funny (she got a great video of him)...amazing how high mice can jump. Needless to say, he wasn't running around by the next night.

B'nai Mitzvah

Matt and I did a B'nai Mitzvah (as he explains on his blog is the plural form of Bat and/or Bar, since it was for cousins) in November. It was a pretty impressive party, considering it was for two twelve year olds, I can't imagine what their weddings will be like...anyway. The house was pretty nice...as you can see the kitchen is very similar to mine:

Here are some random shots from the night, this little girl was pretty funny, loved having her picture taken:

All the kids were given pink socks to put on:
